Dr. Ely Karmon is Senior Research Scholar at The International Institute for Counter-Terrorism (ICT) and Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Policy and Strategy at The Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) in Herzliya, Israel. He lectures on Terrorism and Guerrilla in Modern Times and CBRN terrorism at the M.A. Counterterrorism Studies at IDC.
Dr. Karmon gives us a national security snap shot on terrorism and counterterrorism in Israel. “While everyone talks about Iran, ISIS and the southern threat of Hamas we mustn’t forget that the Al Qaeda troops that have settled down near the Syrian border”, says Karmon. He raises important questions such as the impact these Al Qaeda troops have on Hezbollah and whether these Islamic radicals can attack Israel.
